Sleepy Hollow Crushes Ratings — It’s FOX’s Best Fall Premiere in 7 Years!
If you already know that your Monday nights this fall are going be spent watching Sleepy Hollow— and squirming constantly at all the gruesome beheadings — then you’re not alone. FOX has revealed that its eerie new supernatural drama premiered with the network's highest ratings in seven years.
Sleepy Hollow, which stars British heartthrob Tom Mison as Washington Irving’s famed Ichabod Crane, debuted on Monday, September 16, and aired its second episode of the season on September 23.
Sleepy Hollow crushed last year’s time period competition, Mob Doctor, by 133%, and was also the highest-rated drama to premiere on any broadcast network since NBC’s Revolution last fall. The premiere especially dominated with viewers aged 18-49, delivering the network’s highest ratings since smash hit 24 debuted 12 years ago.
Supernatural and mythological series seem to be all the rage these days — American Horror Story, Once Upon a Time, Ravenswood, Grimm, the list goes on and on — so the success of Sleepy Hollow doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. Plus, have you seen Tom Mison? Yeah, just take a moment and stare at him for a bit. You won’t be sorry that you did.
Are you one of the 10 million people who tuned in to watch Sleepy Hollow’s premiere? And if you came back for episode 2 this week, what did you think? Head below to the comments and sound off to let us know your thoughts.
