Glee’s Cory Monteith Tribute: Ryan Murphy Tweets First Look Photo

Glee Season 5, Episode 3: “The Quarterback” — a tribute episode to Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) who passed away suddenly on July 13 — is just two weeks away. The episode will air on Thursday, October 10, and Glee creator Ryan Murphy just tweeted a preview photo of the sure-to-be emotional show.

On September 26, the day of Glee’s Season 5 premiere, Ryan tweeted three simple words: “Glee First Look.” Alongside it, he attached the first official promotional photo for Glee’s Cory Monteith tribute.

The long, horizontal banner is in black and white. It shows a closeup of Finn’s face. The beloved football star is staring straight at you, his eyebrow slightly raised and his lips in the very beginnings of a smile. The poster reads: “The hardest word to say is ‘goodbye.’”

Unfortunately for all of us, we are going to have to say “goodbye” to Finn Hudson very soon. In light of Cory’s death, Finn will be written off the show for good. We won’t learn how he dies at first; Ryan has said he wants to keep that information intentionally vague for a while.

After the Cory tribute, Glee will go on a four-week hiatus. Season 5, Episode 4: “A Katy or a Gaga” will reportedly air on Thursday, November 7.
