Put your speculation caps back on! We have synopses for the first four episodes of The Walking Dead Season 4, which began on October 13 on AMC.
We already knew the premiere would be called “30 Days Without an Accident,” and we’d heard the titles for Episode 4 (“Indifference”), Episode 6 (
“Rise” "Live Bait") and Episode 7 (“Dead Weight”).
But here are specific details on the first four eps:
Episode 1 — 30 Days Without an Accident
“The group lives an ideal life at the prison, and strives to hold onto humanity.”
Episode 2 — Infected
“The group faces a new enemy; Rick and the others fight to protect their hard-won livelihood.”
Episode 3 — Isolation
“A group leaves the prison to search for supplies; the remaining members of the group deal with recent losses.”
Episode 4 — Indifference
“The supply mission faces hurdles; the situation at the prison worsens.”
Update: Check out the Episode 5-8 synopses here!
What Is This “Infected” Business?
We now know this refers to the flu making its way around the prison, killing many members of our team.
Executive producer Robert Kirkman also said Mother Nature herself would be closing in on the survivors, and we took that to possibly mean weather/a natural disaster could cause problems down the line as well. But the illness — that spreads even without the zombie apocalypse — leading to the Episode 3 run has already done so much damage. Maybe they are looking for medicine ... or a new place to live?
What Goes Wrong On the Supply Run?
Skip ahead to Episodes 3 and 4.
The Ep 3/4 supply run appears to be the road trip with Daryl, Michonne, Tyreese and Bob. Remember that car-meets-herd scene, from the Comic-Con trailer? At the same time as the supply run, the prison situation is supposed to “worsen.” So we could have a big action sequence as part of the supply run (that zombie herd car attack, when Tyreese breaks out his hammer?), as well as scary stuff at the prison, in Eps 3 and 4.
Last season, Episode 4 was the pivotal "Killer Within," including the deaths of T-Dog and Lori and the birth of Judith. Back in Season 1, Episode 4, "Vatos," was when Andrea's sister Amy and Carol's husband Ed died in the big camp walker attack. (Season 2, Episode 4 was "Cherokee Rose," which was a great ep, but not deadly.)
