We’re so excited for Ravenswood’s premiere on October 22, we can hardly stand it. And while what we’re really lamenting is having to watch Caleb leave Hanna behind, we’re a little curious about Ravenswood’s burgeoning stars. Mainly, Haley Lu Richardson (Tess Hamilton), who was just cast in a new pilot.
According to Deadline, Haley was cast in a pilot called The Royals, which is E!’s new contemporary drama about a fictional royal family, “informed by the regal opulence of the British monarchy and framed by Shakespeare’s Hamlet.” It seems that Ravenswood’s up-and-coming It Girl may be taking a throne elsewhere.
On the ABC Family show, Tess is Olivia Matheson’s former best friend who seeks to take over the number one spot now that Olivia is falling from grace. So, does this big chance for the spotlight on a new network mean that Tess might have to be recast — again! Originally, the role was going to be played by Merritt Patterson, and Olivia was going to be played by Elizabeth Whitson, but when Liz was bumped, Merritt stepped in, and Haley got her shot. What’s going to happen now?
We’re not sure about Haley’s future on the show, but the new one sounds pretty awesome, too. Deadline reports the synopsis as follows:
“The Royals centers on Prince Liam (William Moseley) who is thrust in the spotlight after his older brother, the beloved Prince Robert, is killed in a military training accident. Liam is in love with a young American woman, Ophelia (Richardson), the daughter of the royal family’s head of security who is studying art history and dance and who helps him cope with the loss of his brother and his new position as the next King of England. But her secret romance with Liam will bring her into conflict with the Queen (Liz Hurley).”
The pilot has yet to be filmed or even picked up, but if Haley Lu Richardson has to make a choice between The Royals and Ravenswood, which one do you think she should choose?
