Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Halloween Episode: 7 Reasons We’re Excited
The Pretty Little LiarsHalloween special (Season 4, Episode 13: “Grave New World”) is less than a month away, and we can’t wait! The previous Halloween specials have been some of our favorite PLL episodes of all time, and this one seems poised to continue the tradition. Here are seven reasons we are especially excited for Season 4’s Hallloween episode.
PLL always goes above and beyond with their costumes. Remember Emily’s Barbarella costume? Or Hanna’s Marilyn Monroe? Even though the Halloween special isn’t set on Halloween this season, that doesn’t mean the PLL Powers That Be are missing an opportunity to dress the Liars up. They will be attending the Ravenswood Founders Day Celebration (very The Vampire Diaries-esque), which apparently includes dressing up in fancy hats and old-fashioned garb. Ezra is even breaking out a creepy World War I soldier’s costume complete with gas mask. It’s official: no one does costumes like PLL!
To learn more about Ravenswood
Ravenswoodwill premiere following the PLL Halloween special, but the entire PLL ep seems to be set in Ravenswood, which means lots of sneak peeks about this creep-tastic town! So far, we’ve enjoyed all of the glimpses into what might be going on under the surface of this cursed town. We imagine this Ravenswood-set episode will only pique our interest further. What is up with all of those stone angels? Why are all of the townspeople so darn unfriendly? And how come all of the town gathering seem to happen in the cemetery? We want to know, Ravenswood!
Dramatic irony happens when the audience knows something the characters don’t, i.e. that Ezra could potentially be “A.” And we totally plan on keeping on eye on Ezra while the Liars are oblivious to his deviousness! As Ezra will be joining the Liars in Ravenswood for the Halloween episode, we’re also kind of hoping the PLL Powers That Be use this dramatic irony for spooky effect. We don’t want the Liars to be kept in the dark about Ezra for forever, but while they are, we might as well enjoy it!
Some awesome Haleb moments
With Caleb’s departure imminent, we are expecting some solid Haleb moments in the Halloween special. We know he will be making a decision to stay in Ravenswood (though will be in the Season 4 winter premiere of PLL), and we will be privy to some sort of semi-goodbye between Hanna and Caleb in a Ravenswood cemetery. We doubt this will be the only Haleb love we will get in this episode — at least it better not be!
The Liars are crashing the Founders Day party because, word on the street is, Ali will be there. Given that we’ve also seen a promo pic of Sasha Pieterse donning a red coat in a Ravenswood cemetery, we’re really hoping the Liars will finally catch up with their allegedly dead best friend. Girl has some serious explaining to do, and we’re tired of waiting. Honestly, the Halloween ep could consist entirely of the Liars hanging with Ali and we’d probably be okay with it.
More Mrs. Grunwald
We were a little hesitant of Mrs. Grunwald at first when she wouldn’t help Spencer in Season 4, Episode 6: “Under the Gun,” but we’ve since decided that this eerily blue-eyed Ravenswood resident is kind of awesome. Not only did she finally decide to give the Liars a clue, but she seemed to be a confidant to Ali when no one else was. Plus, she drove all the way to Rosewood based on a “feeling” she got that Ali was in trouble - and she was! (If you count being buried alive.)
Break from hiatus
And, finally, we’re excited for the PLL Halloween special because it means new PLL! The Halloween episode is like a fresh, cool drink of water when wandering across the barren desert (of the PLL hiatus). The Halloween episodes could be lackluster — which they never are - and we would still be grateful for a chance to check in with Rosewood and its Liars. Best Halloween candy ever.
