Castle Season 6 Spoilers: Beckett Comes Back to New York — But When?

As of right now, Castle’s Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) is firmly ensconced in her FBI job in D.C., but TVLine reports that one of the finest detectives the 12th precinct has ever seen is on her way back to the Big Apple, and she’ll be there sooner than you think!

Yes, Season 6, Episode 2: “Dreamworld” deals with Castle’s (Nathan Fillion) exposure to a deadly chemical that gives him only a day to live, but assuming her beau survives (we’d bet on it), but either way, Beckett heads home in Episode 3: “Need to Know” to help solve a case in Gotham. In fact, Beckett travels to NYC when a high-profile case that Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) are working on grabs the attention of the bigwigs in the nation’s capitol.

Naturally, Castle has a strong urge to help Ryan and Espo and the case soon becomes about boys vs. girls. Show creator Andrew Marlowe tells TVLine that once the mystery writer gets involved, Beckett and McCord come in and take over the case. So now it’s the boys against the girls. And Castle’s caught in the middle.”

There’s something about Castle getting caught in the middle of the 12th precinct crew and the FBI that makes us think this episode will be pretty darn funny, but we’re even more interested in TVLine’s Matt Mitovich’s “bonus scoop”.

He writes, “Having been on set for this episode, I can tell you that at one point they needed to do a close-up of Caskett’s hands as one slipped something small and shiny to the other.

Small and shiny, you say?! Whatever could that be?

Are you ready for Beckett’s likely temporary return to NYC, or do you wish she’d explore D.C. a bit more? Vote below!

Castle airs Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
