Listeria Scare Leads to Chicken and Ham Salad Recalls Nationwide

Nearly 19,000 pounds of chicken and ham product sold by Garden Fresh Foods in Milwaukee has been recalled due to a possible Listeria bacteria contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The discovery was made through testing conducted by the FDA.

Garden Fresh Foods of Milwaukee’s product has been distributed to retailers nationwide under the Market Pantry, Archer Farms, D'Amico and Sons, Finest Traditions, Garden Fresh and Weis brands. Market Pantry and Archer Farms are featured brands sold at Target.

No illnesses have been reported, but Listeria is especially dangerous to pregnant women, as it is known to cause miscarriages as well as serious illness in people with weak immune systems.

If you or someone you know is feeling ill after consuming one of these products, you are urged to seek immediate medical care.
