Despite his major injury last week, the wacky scientist gave it his all during Week 3 of the competition and performed a futuristic Jazz routine to Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” with newbie instructor Tyne Stecklein. Since Bill was suffering from a torn tendon and was advised by a doctor not to dance at all unless he was in a wheelchair, the Science Guy relied on choreography that only made use of his upper body.
While the judges praised his spirit, the duo scored a meager 16/30. Nevertheless, Darren was impressed.
“Today I got to see with my own eyes something truly incredible: Bill Nye @The ScienceGuy do the robot to Daft Punk,” he tweeted last night. “Too much awesome. #DWTS.”
When it came time for the eliminations, Darren couldn’t seem to hide his disappointment.
“And if I may, my thoughts when he didn’t make the cut: This is an outrage!” he wrote. “Bill Nye @The ScienceGuy is a goddamn national treasure! #DWTS.”
We guess Darren will just have to go back to rooting for his Glee co-star Amber Riley!
