Justin Timberlake Poised to Have Second No. 1 Album This Year
2013 could go down in the history books as The Year of Timberlake. (Joking.) In fact, Alicia Keys is already writing a song about Justin called "Boy on Fire." (Joking again.) But seriously, folks, Justin Timberlake is having one very good year.
After the first half his magnum opus, The 20/20 Experience, hit No. 1 on the "Billboard 200" — Billboard's roundup of the 200 best selling albums — upon its March release, the follow-up album could follow suit (and tie).
Now that The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 is out and rocking our earbuds, it's poised to take the top spot for Billboard's tracking week ending on October 6. We'll find out when the list is published on October 9, but the magazine is forecasting that the album will have sold 325,000 copies.
As for the singles from JT's latest effort, "Take Back the Night" peaked at No. 29 on Billboard's Hot 100 list while "TKO" hit at No. 54.
The mag is also projecting that Drake's "Nothing Was the Same" will come in second place, with Lorde's "Pure Heroin" hitting the veins of the chart #3.
