Dancing With The Stars

Brant Daugherty Explains Getting Mugged at Gunpoint

It’s a good thing Brant Daugherty and his Dancing With the Stars partner Peta Murgatroyd nabbed such high scores on Week 3 of the series as the studly dancer had a particular distressing few days leading up to their Foxtrot.

Following Week 2’s DWTS show, Brant was returning home after performing yet another highly praised routine when he was approached by a man with a gun who demanded that he hand over his possessions.

“After the show I got dropped off and was walking up to my apartment building and a man followed me up with a gun and told me to give him my stuff,” Brant explained to People. “It was a complete random occurrence of events and it led up to one of the worst nights of my life — after having such a great night last week on the dance floor.

While the mugger wasn’t able to steal all of Brant’s possessions, he did make off with the Pretty Little Liars star’s workout pants, T-shirts, dance shoes, toothbrush and cell phone.

“Somewhere out there there’s a dancing thief with great teeth,” Brant joked to People. “We like to joke that we changed his life. When he got my dance shoes he swore away his life of crime and he’s going to start doing the salsa now.”

Thankfully, Brant’s dance partner and rumored flame, Peta, was around to listen to the newbie dancer’s terrifying story — and teach him the moves to a Foxtrot that scored the duo a nine from each judge.

“He came in the next morning… and he was so flustered and emotional,” Peta said. “I was like, ‘Oh my lord, he’s had the worst time.’”
