Ben Flajnik Doing What To Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Exclusive
Nearly two years after his stint on The Bachelor, Ben Flajnik is still a ladies man. Only these days, his priority isn’t wooing women — it’s helping them. For the second year in a row, Ben’s Envolve winery will host its Real Men Drink Pink! event to raise money for local uninsured women to get mammograms. (Go ahead, take a minute, sigh dreamily.)
Along with his two business partners, Mike Benzinger and Danny Fay, Ben explains to Wetpaint Entertainment that at the winery “turns our tasting room into what we call ‘Club E.’ We bring in a DJ and light everything up pink. There’s food and lots and lots of rosé poured.” Because, you know, real men drink rosé wine.
“Last year was a big success,” Ben continues. “This year, our goal is to sell 70 cases of rosé, which totals about $5,000. It’s not a ton of money, but in a small town like Sonoma, it can make a big difference.” That’s certainly true, Mr. F.
He explains his inspiration for helping fund mammograms closer to home, rather than putting the money somewhere outside of the community. “Everyone knows someone who’s either had or been affected by breast cancer. And we had a lot of women take advantage of the money we made last year by going and getting mammograms. At the end of the day, it’s just about giving back.”
The event takes place at Ben’s Envolve Winery on Oct. 26 from 6-11p.m. Although we’re bummed we won’t be in the area to get down, we couldn’t think of a better way to spend your evening if you’re around. Check out all the event details, and be sure to clink an extra glass of pink for us.
