Update (October 23, 2013): We know a few more details about Thursday's episode. For one, Emma (Marguerite Moreau) will drop by to observe in surgery and flirt with Owen (Kevin McKidd) — who seems like her boyfriend now — and will of course run into Cristina (Sandra Oh) while she's there.
Also, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Cristina are, like, totally on the outs, y'all. The way Mer looks at her former bestie, you'd think she was looking at an abscess in need of excision.
And finally, it sounds like the docs will inject superglue into a patient's heart — intentionally! — in a ripped-from-the-headlines operation.
Original story (October 8, 2013):
We're only three episodes into Season 10 of Grey's Anatomy, but in case you wanna be spoiled about the installment that will air three weeks from now — Episode 6, "Map of You," airing October 24 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC — we've got you covered! Here's the network's official synopsis.
"Derek [Patrick Dempsey] and Callie [Sara Ramirez] work on a brain mapping project, Richard [James Pickens Jr.] encourages the interns to use his physical condition as a learning tool, and, after a discussion with Callie, Meredith [Ellen Pompeo] considers continuing her mother’s research. Meanwhile, Shane [Gaius Charles] continues to feel guilty about Heather’s [Tina Majorino] death."
Wowza. That's a lot of information. So let's break this down.
The "brain mapping project" in question is the same Obama-inspired one Patrick hyped back in August — the same one we believe could provide for a graceful exit from Grey Sloan Memorial for Derek, should Patrick not renew his contract after the season is complete. (Also, "Map of You"? Get it? Get it?)
The mention of Richard's "physical condition" sounds ominous! Perhaps the former Chief is facing a lasting disability. After all, if he's still not better by Episode 6, he must be in pretty dire straits.
And Shane, stop wallowing! Mousey will have been dead for, like, six episodes by that point.
After this installment is Episode 7, airing Halloween night… and zombies. Oh, and werewolves, too. Let the good times roll, huh?
