Scandal Season 3, Episode 2 Sneak Peek: Olivia Pope Accuses the White House of Slander! (VIDEO)

When we last left Olivia Pope, her name was being cleared as the president’s mistress, but in turn, innocent White House employee Jeannine Locke was framed as the new adulteress. However, as seen briefly in the promo for Scandal Season 3, Episode 2: “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” those lies don’t last long.

In a sneak peek from the episode (airing October 10 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC), Olivia is representing Jeannine, speaking on her behalf in a much-buzzed-about press conference.

“I’d like to introduce you to Jeannine Locke. Jeannine graduated summa cum laude from Berkeley. Jeannine is a loyal friend and sister and daughter who has worked tirelessly for this administration. And most importantly, Jeannine Locke absolutely, positively did not have sex with the President of the United States,” Olivia says bluntly before making a bold accusation.

“By leaking her name through anonymous sources, this White House is guilty of slander. And I am representing her pro bono because I have personally been affected by these brutal and underhanded characters attacks myself,” she continues. “Yesterday, the president was having an affair with me. Today, it’s Jeannine. Tomorrow, who knows?”

From there, the camera pans back to Fitz and Cyrus, who are watching intently. What are their reactions? You’ll have to watch the full clip below to find out — and to see the definitive statement that Olivia ends on.

Check out the video below, then be sure to tune in for the episode on Thursday, October 10 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
