Love & Hip Hop: Meet the New Ladies of the Cast! (VIDEOS)
In the immortal words of Boyz II Men, “It’s so hard to say goodbye.” But, alas, we had to do just that to some of our favorite leading ladies of Love & Hip Hop. Over the course of three seasons, we’ve seen some of our favorites come and go, and on Season 4 of Love & Hip Hop, we can expect to see new faces enter as old faces exit.
Who, do you ask, is joining us for the fun-filled ride starting October 28? Read on to get the 411 on the newest additions running New York.
As you already know, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Memphis songbird K. Michelle has flown north for this season of Love & Hip Hop.The talented songstress has let be known that she opted to join that show at its original location in New York, in order to obtain her own spin-off reality show. The singer promises that we’ll see a softer, “mature,” drama-free side to her… especially since she didn’t film with any of her female co-stars.
K. Michelle is hoping that her time in New York will help her advance her already rising music career and put her on top of the charts with her musical idols.
This German export joins the Love & Hip Hop crew with her expansive knowledge of music and years of experience in both the USA and European market. Aminata Schmahl, formerly known as Amina Buddafly, was a part of the group, Black Buddafly, which consisted of her two sisters, Sophie and Jazz (Amina’s twin). After finding success in their hometown of Hamburg, the three butterflies flew across the sea to make it in America. The ladies were signed to Def Jam records and had the hit song “Rock-A-Bye” in 2005.
Now, Amina is back in the music game and hopes to fulfill her ultimate dream of becoming a singer-songwriter and composer in the tough city of New York.
This Mississippi native joins that cast of Love & Hip Hop with her love of acting, and well, industry boyfriend of 13 years, Peter Gunz. Tara moved from her small southern town in order to pursue her dreams of acting and was heavily involved in the musical and off-Broadway theater scenes for years. These days, she’s a manager of a trendy hot-spot in the meatpacking district but continues to hone her craft while taking care of her two kids with Peter, Jamison and Kaz.
Much like Tara Wallace, Erica Jean is another acting hopeful who joins that cast of Love & Hip Hop due to her musical connections. Erica was once involved with rapper Saigon, and that two have a son together, Stephen.
Though Erica finds it hard to manage raising her son, and pursuing her dreams, she continues to push herself and is even in the process of pursuing her second dream of working in the medical field. At the moment, Erica is going back to school and is proving that there’s more to her than just beauty and her music industry connections.
These four ladies join cast regulars Erica Mena, Yandy Smith, and Tahiry Jose for another season of drama-filled moments on Love & Hip Hop and we can’t wait to see how they rise and if they fall.
We’re sure Bronx native Nya Lee will bring the heat on Love & Hip Hop — she’s known for being one of New York’s premier strippers, a hot model, and an aspiring rapper. Since the age of 16, Nya has been writing her own music, but by age 18, Nya became distracted by the money and fame she received from modeling and stripping.
Now 21 years old, Nya is back at work making music with her own record label, OurCutt (which she named after a near-fatal cut in her neck), where she’s currently making a mix tape that features several big names in the hip-hop industry including French Montana, Red Café, and Jadakiss.
