The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Season 4, Episode 3 Spoilers: Tyreese Shines in “Isolation”?

It’s almost hammer time! The Walking Dead Season 4, Episode 2 is called “Infected,” and Episode 3, “Isolation,” — airing on October 27 — sounds just as ominous.

Episode 2 dealt with the dual threats of this flu-like illness and someone potentially working against Team Prison from the inside, doing stuff like feeding the walkers at the fence, and burning Karen and David. Here’s the synopsis for what happens next, in Episode 3: "A group leaves the prison to search for supplies; the remaining members of the group deal with recent losses."

That supply run makes us think of the car trip in the big Comic-Con trailer, showing Tyreese, Daryl, Michonne, and Bob driving into a major herd. It’s possible we’ll see that herd attack in Episode 3, which may lead to the idea that it’s a particularly strong moment for Tyreese, who has just lost his girlfriend, Karen, after she was mysteriously taken outside the prison and burnt to a crisp. Gross!

Back in July, someone tweeted, "#Spoiler #TheWalkingDead #4x03 The Best episode for #tyreese @ChadLColeman , written by @nicholebeattie. (I LOVE THIS WRITER)."

The writer replied, "@crispostproduct @ChadLColeman 403 is indeed a great episode. It was written by @RobertKirkman & directed by the one and only @DanSackheim."

This is just speculation, but maybe it's best for him because he has a comic-like moment with those walkers outside the car. In the comics, a furious and grief-stricken Tyreese annihilates a group of walkers in the gym. It’s possible that Tyreese going to town on the walkers by the car — hammer and all — is a take on that gym scene.

It’s also possible he’ll be filled with rage and grief-stricken on the TV show, too, especially since he is still obviously emotional thanks to Karen's shocking death. He’d be even more distraught if his sister Sasha was gone too, and based on an Episode 3 sneak peek below, we know things aren't looking great for her either. Sorry, Ty!

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET.
