Apparently being nominated for five CMA Awards hasn’t kept country singer Miranda Lambert busy enough. This past weekend, the country phenom opened her second Pink Pistol store in her hometown of Lindale, Texas.
The talented singer, who is married to The Voice coach and fellow country singer Blake Shelton, had already opened what Blake lovingly refers to as her “big pink baby” in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. According to Country Weekly, the store sells clothing, accessories, antiques, and more — all of which are hand-picked by the star, herself.
Miranda reportedly opened the store to keep herself busy when not touring and, apparently, it’s done well — hence the second store. The bubbly singer couldn’t be more thrilled, taking to social media over the weekend to express her excitement.
"We did it! We officially have 2 Pink Pistols! Huge thank you to my hometown Lindale Tx for a warm welcome home!" she tweeted.
The festivities were anything but low-key. Last month, the store’s Facebook page posted what customers could expect from the opening weekend events:
“We hope to see everyone at our grand opening weekend Oct. 12-13! We are turning Lindale, Texas Pink!! We will be opening at noon on Saturday so get ready for a fun-filled weekend! Wine Fest, Live Music, possibly a carnival ride or two!! Great door prizes, tons of Pink Pistol gear and a few surprises up our sleeves! Book your hotel rooms now and we’ll see you at Pinktoberfest!”
Perhaps the “surprises” was in reference to the fact that Miranda, herself, made the opening. According to People, Miranda’s mom, Bev Lambert, referenced the town being a flurry of excitement.
"I'm freaking out!" Bev exclaimed. "I don't know that Lindale has seen this kind of traffic ever."
As People reports, Miranda hopes the store will do for Lindale what it’s done for Tishomingo, where she lives with Blake. The store has drawn tons of tourists.
