The Voice 2013: Best Performance From the Season 5 Battle Rounds — Oct. 15, 2013 (VIDEO)

October 15 brought about the second night of battle rounds for The Voice 2013 Season 5 and while the episode was only an hour long (and montaged a couple the battles of some of our favorites), it was definitely filled with energetic performances that pushed the contestants out of their safe zones.

While the results of Team Blake Shelton’s fun-filled battle between Monika Leigh and Ray Boudreaux were surprising (since Blake chose Ray as the clear winner despite Monika being his favorite), we still had to put this shocking performance on the back burner.

Though Team Cee Lo Green’s battle between Kat Robichaud and R. Anthony was mildly pleasing, we were most impressed by the performance that Team Christina Aguilera’s Jacob Poole and Matthew Schuler gave us.

Not only did these guys rock out to the hit song “My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light ‘Em up)” by Fall Out Boy, the guys came full steam with highly energetic choreography that had them bouncing around the Voice stage and not even missing a beat.

The performance also gave us a chance to finally meet Jacob, who we barely saw during the blinds as his audition was lumped into a montage (boo!). The coaches were taken away by Jacob’s raw talent, which they hadn’t seen and we were thoroughly impressed with mini rock concert!

Sadly, Jacob said goodbye after Matthew was declared the winner, but we were pretty happy that we finally got a chance to see what Jacob was really made of.

Do you agree with our pick? Watch the clip below and tell us what you think!
