Another Glee Actor’s TV Show Canceled — Star Reacts on Twitter

Not too long ago, we learned that Jane Lynch’s (Sue) animated series Murder Police has been canceled by Fox before the first episodes could even air. Now comes news that another Glee actor’s new TV show has been axed.

Welcome to the Family, the NBC comedy starring Mike O’Malley (Burt Hummel) has been canceled after only three weeks on the air. Deadline reported the news on October 18, saying that the decision goes into effect immediately. No new episodes of the show will air.

Actor Mike O’Malley took to Twitter to share the sad news. “Welcome to the Family has been cancelled. Thanks to a great creative group and thanks for watching,” he wrote. His message was short and sweet. Sigh.

While we do appreciate knowing that Burt Hummel won’t be leaving Glee completely anytime soon, we’re still upset to hear of the cancellation. The actor had planned on doing both shows, anyway, so we know that Kurt’s dad was never going to be gone from Glee for good.

In happier news, Glee star Jayma Mays’ (Emma) new CBS show, The Millers, was given a full-season pickup today, according to a TVLine reports. We’re glad to hear something more positive in the midst of this string of cancellations.

Are you surprised to hear about the recent pickups and cancellations, or is it working out how you might have assumed? Head to the comments and let us know what you think!
