Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Full House Reveal: What You Didn’t Know About Their Early Set Days
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen spent the first eight years of their lives on the Full House set, launching their acting careers at only 9-months-old in the alternating role of Michelle Tanner. While their days were filled with plenty of "You got it dudes" and "You're in big trouble, misters" there was something much deeper happening on the San Fransisco set.
The 27-year-old twins revealed to Net-a-Porter's The Edit that their lifelong love of fashion really started with their Michelle role. "We'd be in six-hour fittings three times a week, because we had to wear 12 different outfits," Ashley said.
The show wardrobe mostly consisted of adult pieces like Chanel and Marc Jacobs that were cut to fit. "We were designing clothes for ourselves as we were so petite. So I think that is when we became obsessed with fit, and now the obsession has become a profession," Mary-Kate added.
Years after Full House, the twins went on to co-found and launch multiple fashion brands, including a couture fashion label named The Row, a contemporary collection called Elizabeth & James, a J.C. Penney line called Olsenboye, and a line of T-shirts named StyleMint.
