The Voice 2013: Best Performance From the Season 5 Battle Rounds, Oct. 21, 2013 (VIDEO)

The third night of The Voice 2013 Season 5 battle rounds saw some of the competition’s finest contestants pitted against each other in a musical grudge match. Of the performances last night, we found a few pretty noteworthy, while others… not so much.

Kicking the night off were Team Christina Aguilera contestants Josh Logan and Michael Lynch singing Maroon 5’s “Harder to Breathe.” We have to say, we really did enjoy this performance. Like the coaches, we felt that Josh had a command of the song, as well as a voice that sounded pretty similar to Voice coach (and Maroon 5 frontman) Adam Levine.

We weren’t so in love with the battle between Team Cee Lo Green contestants George Horga Jr. and Juhi (“Best I Ever Had” by Gavin DeGraw). While we completely understand that Cee Lo wanted to have a fresh song for his fresh artists, we felt that their sounds were just too different, and clashed at times.

But at the end of the night, we gave the best performance to James Wolpert and Will Champlin’s rendition of Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” for Team Adam.

Not only was the performance very high energy, with both men truly fighting to stay alive in the competition, but we were just as surprised as Adam on how close a call it would be between the two singers. At the end of the battle, Adam chose James as the winner, but Christina snatched Will with her last steal, allowing the entertainer to fight it out in the knockout rounds.

We only hope that these guys make it past the knockouts to see them battle it out during the live shows once more!
