With all of the coupling and potential coupling going on in and around the prison on The Walking Dead, sometimes we forget this show is about a group of people trying to survive in the world post-zombie apocalypse. Between Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), it can be hard to keep track of all those furtive glances and fleeting romantic moments.
Team Prison has also received a massive influx of newbies, which can only mean one thing: more potential for romance!
The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Lawrence Gilliard Jr. — who plays Bob Stookey on the hit AMC show — and he dropped a hint that yet another hookup could be on the horizon. When asked if Bob bonds with anyone in the prison Lawrence answered, “Maybe Michonne, but that remains to be seen.”
Sure, it’s nothing definitive, and we’re still holding out for Richonne, but Larry’s answer seems too perfectly cryptic.
Of course, if Bob is working for The Governor (David Morrissey) in some way, any kind of relationship with Michonne would be very interesting, considering the Big Bad is her sworn enemy and she’s out for blood.
Lawrence even teased the eventual showdown between The Governor and Rick or Michonne, saying, “It's going be ugly. There are going to be quite a few shocking moments. It's something that's been building over a season and he lost at the end of Season 3. So he's coming back with a vengeance. Everybody's trying to survive and he'll do whatever it takes to survive.”
Our excitement for a showdown with The Governor is a given, but this Bob/Michonne business is new to us!
Do you think they’ll hook up, or is Larry just having some fun with us? Tell us your thoughts and theories below!
The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
