Season 2 of the hit VH1 show Chrissy and Mr. Jones premiered Monday night, and it looks like this time around we’ll be seeing a softer side to hip hop couple Chrissy Lampkin and Jim Jones.
Within the first few minutes of the episode, we learn that Jim’s son, Pudie, wants to spend the summer with his dad. While Jim is pretty excited about the idea, Chrissy’s a little apprehensive.
However, as the episode goes on, we see Chrissy warming up to the notion of being a full-time mom (which she still hopes to be someday) as well as enjoying the calming effect Pudie has on his dad.
We’re then treated to a little crazy — in the form of Nancy “Mama” Jones, that is. The premiere catches up with this Harlemite as she battles rumors of an affair with longtime (former?) friend Freddie, who just might be the one behind the confusion.
Unlike its parent show, Love & Hip Hop, Chrissy & Mr. Jones has had a very tame season opener, and the show is giving us fans the impression that this season will be very family oriented. Jim has even said that this season will show a different side to their relationship.
With Pudie in the mix, it looks like the drama will dial down a bit and our favorite reality celebs will work on what it takes to be a family and quite honestly, we’re all for it.
Besides, we can use the calm after the storm that is Love & Hip Hop, which airs directly before it!
