Amber Riley’s Dancing With the Stars Knee Injury: Going to a Doctor!

Amber Riley pretty much crushed it during October 18’s episode of Dancing With the Stars. Her paso doble got a 29/30, while her “fox”-y group performance scored a perfect 30. Oh, and did we mention that Amber did it all while she and her partner, Derek Hough, were both injured?

Amber’s been dancing on a knee injury for a few weeks now. Last night, both her knees were killing her, as were her shoulders. Derek’s back was injured, too, so much that rumors were flying that he might not perform at all this week.

Both dancers pushed through the pain, and emerged at the end of the night safe to dance another week. “The day started off shaky but we pulled it together! Had so much fun tonight!” Amber tweeted.

Just because she made it through, that doesn’t mean that Amber’s ignoring her injury. On October 29, the Glee star wrote that she was headed to a doctor to get her knees examined.

“Taking a break today and going to the doctor to make sure my knees are ok for this week,” she tweeted, followed by a smiley face emoticon. “last night was so fun! I have the best partner!”

Her injuries, though they haven’t stopped her, are still causing the DWTS frontrunner plenty of pain. “...also...sore...very very sore....! Love you guys! Of to see Dr. Z!” she wrote.

We’re glad to see Amber taking care of herself. She needs to be in tip-top shape if she’s going to be the one to bring home that mirror ball trophy in the end. And you know what? We totally think she can do just that. Team Roughley FTW.
