When the press published photos of Kristen Stewart and her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders — proof that they were having an affair — an absurd amount of attention went to Rupert's wife at the time, model and actress Liberty Ross.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair — her first public comments on the matter — Liberty opens up about what it was like to discover her husband's infidelity in the middle of a media firestorm.
"It was horrible," she recalls. "It was really the worst, really the worst.”
“I have no words to describe what we went through … I just visualized [being] this sort of Masai warrior. I was just going to stand very still and very strong, and just let it all roll past me. I tried to keep as far away from it as I could…"
Making matters even worse, Liberty had moved to Los Angeles with Rupert to focus on his career, and they were both thrilled about Snow White. "I’ve done everything I could to be the perfect wife and mother and really support my husband," she explains. "But I just didn’t have any more to give, you know?"
Amazingly, she forgives Rupert now. "We were together for 16 years, and that in itself is really beautiful."
Here's hoping Liberty finds some peace and quiet out of the public eye!
