X Factor 2013: Who Is Sweet Suspense? Watch All Performances
Imagine the Spice Girls with a little less spice and a lot more sugar and what do you get? X Factor 2013 contestants Sweet Suspense. The season's all-girl trio owes its start thanks to the combined brain power of the X Factor mentors and features three young talents eager to keep their spots on the big stage.
So who are the three cuties making up the trio? Meet Celee Polenghi, a 16-year-old from Miami, Florida; 17-year-old Summer Reign from Apple Valley, California; and, the baby of the group, 14-year-old Millie Thrasher from Birmingham, Alabama.
The ladies had never met before becoming the pop sugar confection known as Sweet Suspense, but now that they're a unit, they have no plans to split!
"We honestly don't want to be separated," Millie said during a recent show. "We're together now. We're a group."
If things stay as sweet for the group as they did during the first night of Live Auditions, we see no reason Celee, Summer, and Millie would have to part ways. Their neon-hued performance of Icona Pop's "I Love It" had their mentor Simon Cowell singing their praises loud and proud.
"Girls, you know what? That's what I call a pop group. It was magic," Simon said. "You gel ... I'm so impressed, I can't tell you." No suspense there — Simon easily picked the group for the Top 13. There they brought their Motown flavor with a performance of The Supremes's "You Keep Me Hanging On."
Then, when a tech glitch required all 13 finalists to perform again, they looked to Justin Bieber for inspiration by covering his song, "That Should Be Me." It was a rocky performance but Sweet Suspense made it through to perform Toni Basil's "Mickey" in a fast-paced number that had us flashing back to the first time we saw Bring It On. Was it enough to keep the group together?
