CMA Awards 2013: Miranda Lambert Wins Female Vocalist of the Year

If there’s one absolute statement we have to say about country music, it would have to be that the women of the genre sure know how to rock! We aren’t knocking the guys that were nominated at the 47th Annual Country Music Association Awards, but they were nothing compared to this collection of gals. But at the end of the night, there can only be one winner, and this year that honor goes to Miranda Lambert.

The rest of the ladies in the category — Kelly Clarkson, Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood — make up some of the most successful newcomers and giants of the genre and were all equally deserving, but Miranda definitely made quite a statement this year.

“I really didn’t think this one was going to happen this year,” Miranda said on-stage while accepting her big award. “I have to pinch myself.”

Being the delightful Southern belle that she is, the “All Kinds of Kind” singer took a moment to praise the other ladies in her category, but that isn’t the only person she had kind things to say about.

“Thanks for putting up with my crap,” Miranda said, throwing an adorable grin to her hubby, Voice coach Blake Shelton. These two are too adorable!

We’re so happy for Miranda, but do you think she should have won? Hit the comments and let us know!
