Kellie Pickler

Kellie Pickler Will Return to Dancing With the Stars in Week 9 to Support Derek Hough!

Kellie Pickler rocked the Country Music Association Awards last night (November 6), but we’re not here to talk about her black Georges Chakra gown or her gorgeous growing blond hair — we’re too excited about her return to Dancing With the Stars!

The reigning Season 16 champ talked to E! News on the red carpet, and she was shocked to hear her DWTS pro partner Derek Hough was in serious pain recently on Season 17. She jumped in before E! could even share details on his back injury, saying she'd call him after the CMA Awards were over.

"We had the best time [on Season 16]," Kellie said. "He is amazing. I'm actually going back to watch the show on Monday and support him, of course. He's my boy. I'm gonna be there for him. Oh, I hope he feels better. Is it his neck or back? ... He's a trooper. He's a fighter. He'll be good."

It's his back this time, but it's not a brand new injury. She knows better than anyone how good he is under pressure. Derek was in her music video for "Someone Somewhere Tonight," which he basically choreographed on the fly when Kellie asked him to help out. The video was recently nominated for an American Country Award.

As we said before, though, we’re most excited to see Kellie in the audience. We just wish she was returning to be in his trio with Amber Riley. Sigh, if only.

Kellie's album, The Woman I Am, comes out on Monday, November 11, aka Veterans Day, with some songs co-written by her husband, Kyle Jacobs. Could Kellie return to DWTS to sing for us? For now, we’ll settle for her cheering on Derek and Amber.

Do you miss Kellie and Derek? Sound off below, and catch DWTS on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
