Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington Snags Another Big Role
It seems the only thing rising faster than Twitter’s stock right now is the star of Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington (Jon Snow). After securing big roles in the upcoming films Pompeii and Seventh Son, Kit has now landed the lead role in the upcoming film, Spooks: The Greater Good, which is based on the British television show, Spooks. Ironically, Seventh Son is based on the novel The Spook’s Apprentice, by Joseph Delaney, so apparently Kit’s really into spooks.
In the new film, Kit will portray an agent on the trail of an escaped terrorist, in what should be a nice break for Kit from period-piece costumes (he plays an ancient Roman in Pompeii, Seventh Son takes place in the 1700s, and GoT is of course epic fantasy). The new film also costars Jennifer Ehle (Zero Dark Thirty) and original Spooks star Peter Firth. Spooks: The Greater Good will be directed by Bharat Nalluri, who also directed some episodes of the television show.
No word yet on when we can expect the film to hit theaters, but it should start filming early next year.
