The Walking Dead’s Shane (Jon Bernthal) and Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) aren't dead after all — they just went back in time to 1940s L.A.! Will you join them?
TWD has an official spin-off coming in 2015, but a mini Walking Dead reunion is airing next month. Frank Darabont is the series’ original showrunner and now he's running the show for Mob City, which stars two TWD alums — Jon Bernthal and Jeffrey DeMunn — and will premiere Wednesday, December 4 at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
Frank actually wrote and directed the first two episodes, which will air back to back in the two-hour launch. Two more episodes will air back-to-back on December 11, and then two more on December 18.
Set in Los Angeles in the 1940s and 1950s, the show follows the true conflict between the L.A. Police Department — led by Chief William Parker (Neal McDonough) — and the L.A. criminal world, led by Mickey Cohen (Jeremy Luke). It's based on the book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City.
Jon plays a lead role as police officer Joe Teague and he dominates the sneak peek TNT just released. (Watch it below.) The show also stars Milo Ventimiglia, Edward Burns, Alexa Davalos, Robert Knepper, Ernie Hudson, and even Simon Pegg.
Check out the new promo below. What do you think? The tagline, "Nobody gets out alive," sounds kinda close to TWD's longtime mantra, "No one is safe."
