We’ve been in many lands on Once Upon a Time, including Storybrooke, the Enchanted Forest, Neverland, and Wonderland, but one of the most memorable episodes happened right in our backyard: New York City.
While that featured Rumplestiltskin getting shot and the start of Neal and Tamara’s drama with Emma and Henry, that’s what made it so incredible. And based on the title of Season 3, Episode 12 — aka the start of the second half of the season — we’re going back to the Big Apple.
On November 14, co-creator Adam Horowitz revealed two titles, including the midseason finale (Season 3, Episode 11: “Going Home”), which hints at everyone returning to Storybrooke, and Episode 12, titled “New York City Serenade.”
“More #titlespoilers for #onceuponatime! #savehenry #notwhatyouthink #springsteen,” he captioned the photo. While “not what you think” hints that it’s not set in NYC, the lyrics are about a girl not wanting to take the train with her guy — perhaps Neal going back without Emma with him? Does she choose Hook over him?
If Adam really isn’t talking about Springsteen, he could be referencing the 2007 rom-com starring Freddie Prinze, Jr., Chris Klein, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Nothing like a love triangle to inspire… another love triangle!
Unfortunately, this episode won’t premiere until three months after Episode 11 airs. To avoid mini hiatuses throughout the season, they’re taking a big break after the midseason finale, which is a gift and a curse. (Magic always comes with a price!)

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
