In case there was any doubt, Miley Cyrus has confirmed it: that was, in fact, a joint she was smoking at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards last weekend.
When the soon-to-be 21 year old Queen of Twerk sat down with Britain’s Capital FM radio station, she gave them the lowdown on what inspired her controversial move as she accepted the award for Best Music Video for “Wrecking Ball.”
“I was just walking out of my room and then I was like, 'Oh, I have this in my bag. That will be really funny.' And I didn't say anything to anybody," Miley said. “It's not that I think about that ... and I don't tell anyone I'm gonna do it."
And apparently, her reasoning behind it was because she thought it would make her fans happy.
"I just did it mostly because I knew the fans in Amsterdam would love it, and they started going crazy when I did it,” Miley rationalized. “But I don't really care what the media says because I don't google myself, so I don't know what they say. And I don't care."
We’re inclined to think the incident wasn’t exactly that spontaneous, given the green-themed tweets Miley exchanged with Katy Perry prior to her appearance.
And, you know, all things considered… it’s probably not the smartest thing she could have done by admitting that what she was smoking was pot, considering that in Amsterdam, where the awards were held, marijuana is legal, just not in public places. And the EMAs? About as public as a place can get.
