Happy Birthday, Evan Peters! 5 Things You Didn’t Know About the American Horror Story Star
Actor Evan Peters — who turns 27 today, January 20, having been in 1987 — has starred in all three spooktacular seasons of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story. In this third season, entitled American Horror Story: Coven, the talented 26-year-old actor plays Kyle Spencer, a franken-frat boy with a super-dark and twisted storyline.
He auditioned for Peeta in The Hunger Games. Say what? Evan told Vulture,“I got to do a scene with Jennifer Lawrence. I was nervous as hell, because she’s such a fantastic actress. And the movie is such a great story — I love all those books. I can’t wait to see the movie. I’m so psyched.” Call us crazy, but we think he might’ve played Peeta with more emotional intensity — especially the numb Peeta that we’ll be seeing soon. He was involved in a domestic violence incident. In July 2013, Evan’s girlfriend Emma Roberts was arrested after someone called the police about a loud fight happening in the celebrity couple’s hotel room in Montreal, Canada. Sources told TMZ that when they showed up Evan had a bloody nose and what appeared to be a bite mark (though sources deny Emma did the latter). Emma was arrested, but was released hours later because Evan didn’t press charges. As of November 2013, they are still together and have been since 2012.
In case you were wondering, Evan was completely naked under his Rubber Man costume. The latex Rubber Man costume from AHS Season 1 took a lot of lube and an additional hand to put on. As Evan described the intense process to G4, “You’re butt-naked and you’re lubing up, and then you put on the pants and then you get it up to the waist and Eric [an AHS wardrobe guy] comes in and pulls up the rest.” Alrighty then!
He’s a former Disney star. Though he seems like he could only play super-intense characters, Evan has done comedy and even a Disney show. He played nerdy character Seth Wosmer in the Disney sitcom Phil of the Future. You might be able to catch him on some reruns as the Disney Channel just started re-running them as part of its "Throwback Thursday" programming. (His girlfriend Emma Roberts also got her start on a kids’ network in the Nickelodeon series Unfabulous.)
His dream AHS guest star would be… Evan revealed his dream guest star for Horror would be Transformers hunk Shia LaBeouf. Interesting choice. He explained to Yahoo! Movies, “I wouldn’t mind working with Shia LaBeouf. I doubt that he would ever come on the show, but that would be dope. That would be really cool to work with Shia. He's a great actor. I think he's one of the best. In our age range, he's the go-to.”
He’s about to get a helluva lot more famous. Look out, world! Evan Peters is about to become a household name. The blond actor will play silver-haired mutant Quicksilver in the highly-anticipated Marvel Universe X-Men: Days of Future Past, which will premiere in May 2014. Expect to see him in another skin-tight full-body suit (and finally co-starring with J.Law). Who’s excited?
