Glee's stars are still coming to terms with the loss of Cory Monteith, who passed away in July. But they are also relishing the amazing times they had with Cory, such as Naya Rivera (Santana) recounting a joyful evening when she and Cory spent time together away from the set.
Naya appears on the back cover of the current issue of Rolling Stone, and she recalls a special evening when she and Cory got to know each other better a few years back.
"I have so many memories of Cory," Naya says. "This is a good one: two years ago, we were filming a scene and got off at nine o'clock. I said, 'Do you want to get a drink? I'll take you to this place that's really cool, the Roof.'"
"So we go there, and we were sitting in this bungalow by the fire for three-and-a-half hours, drinking these great bourbon cocktails, chatting about life and having a blast," Naya continues. "Then, I drove him back to the Paramount parking lot because that's where his car was, and I played him a bunch of songs I was doing."
"He was also in a band, so he was always playing me their songs," she says. "It was a good day."
This is a truly touching story, and it's great to hear how much the Glee cast enjoys each other's company. Plus, we now wish that we could get to hear more of the solo songs that Naya has recorded for an upcoming album.
Our thoughts continue to go out to all those who were close to Cory, and we love hearing about all the ways in which he made people's lives better.
