X Factor Judge Paulina Rubio Accused by Ex-Husband of Hiding Show Earnings
Paulina Rubio’s new gig as a judge on The X Factor isn’t winning her any points with her ex-husband. Nicolas Vallejo Najera accuses his former wife of concealing her contracts with the show during their divorce proceedings, according to a report by the Daily Mail.
Paulina and Nicolas were married for almost five years before officially divorcing back in March. They have a three-year-old son, Andrea Nicolas.
When the two settled earlier this year, Paulina agreed to pay Nicolas $6,750 a month in spousal support for three years, reports TMZ. Nicolas claims that this figure is skewed. He says Paulina concealed the income she was scheduled to make with X Factor and other TV show deals.
Paulina makes a reported $1.5 million from her X Factor deal, which is actually low for judging on the show (though not as low as fellow newbie judge Kelly Rowland’s $1 million contract). Veteran judge Demi Lovato makes an estimated $2 million while head honcho Simon Cowell takes home somewhere between $75 to 90 million per season.
Of course, if ratings continue to slip as drastically as they have during the past few weeks, X Factor may get the boot and no one will have a judging job (and the accompanying paycheck) next season.
Paulina reportedly refutes Nicolas recent claims with her lawyer telling TMZ that his client shared all pertinent information during their divorce proceedings, adding Nicolas is just a “whiner.”
