Arielle Kebbel’s (Lexi Branson) always got our backs when it comes to sorting out our feels concerning the most recent The Vampire Diaries episode. This week, she sets her snark on Season 5, Episode 7 (“Death and the Maiden”), rehashing the wrap-up of the devastating Silas/Amara/Tessa love triangle.
Arielle hosted this week’s rehash from the TVD set for Whitmore College or, as Arielle aptly calls it, “the nicest dorm in the entire history of the universe.” We’re glad she had such nice digs to hang in while recapping such a crazy episode that saw Silas, Amara, and Tess die in succession. “Well, I guess that’s a wrap for this 2,000-year-old nightmare of a love triangle, but was I the only one who felt just the teeniest bit of sympathy for Silas?” asked Arielle.
Arielle didn’t miss her chance to comment on the three-doppelganger scene that featured Katherine, Elena, and Amara all together: “We all knew this scene was coming, and the doppel-palooza did not disappoint.” We concur! TVD pulled it off seamlessly — though not, apparently, without a lot of work. Arielle shared executive producer Julie Plec’s tweet on the subject: “If you thought that was easy to shoot, it wasn’t.”
Arielle also took some time to recount Bonnie’s semi-resurrection from the dead: “Bonnie is back for reals, in the flesh, in the same outfit she’s been wearing since last season — quick, someone get that girl to the mall.” Ha. We’re sure Kat Graham is dying for a wardrobe change. Though, we’re guessing Bonnie has other things to worry about what with the pain that comes with being the portal to the Other Side.
Between Stefan PTSDing, Katherine dying, and Bonnie portaling, things are looking pretty dismal for our TVDers, Arielle summarizes: “Man, Silas and Tessa certainly left a path of torture and despair in their wake. I mean, I’m kind of getting a little bummed out.” Us too, Arielle. Us, too.
