Promo for Glee Season 5, Episode 7: “Puppet Master” — What the Fox (Say)?!

Surprise! During next week’s Glee Season 5, Episode 7: “Puppet Master,” the show is doing “What the Fox Say.” Yes, Ylvis’ “The Fox.” And if you haven’t heard that weirdly addicting song yet, then... who are we kidding? Everyone has heard that song.

Naturally, Glee needs to put it’s own twist on the cultural pheom of a tune. If you thought the original music video was strange — people in animal costumes, weird midnight woodland dance parties/epileptic fits — you ain’t seen nothing yet.

In Glee’s version... there are puppets. Lots and lots of puppets. And that’s in addition to all the people in weird animal costumes having strange midnight epileptic fits in the woods.

Fun fact: We unknowingly got a taste of things to come when Fox fox released a special promo for all the shows on it’s network, set to the tune of Ylvis’ wacky viral hit. The video was actually created byDarren Criss’s (Blaine) girlfriend, Mia Swier, who works for Fox Special Ops. Darren appears in the video, and at one point, he even kisses a rat puppet. What the fox? It looks like Mia’s video may have been the inspiration behind this upcoming Glee performance!

But anyway, where were we? Oh yeah, a bunch of other stuff happens in this episode, too. The show airs on Thanksgiving — which means we’ll need a extra coffee to counteract all the tryptophan in our systems — and both Demi Lovato (Dani) and Adam Lambert (Starchild) will be making their big return.

Also: Will and Sue get all dressed up and dance a glamorous Fred Astaire number. But mostly: Puppets. There are so many puppets. Like, everywhere.
