Update: The Gov. has Michonne and Hershel hostage, and plans to use them as leverage to gain access to the prison. He says he won't hurt them, but we're not so sure he really means it. Check back later for updates!
The Governor (David Morrissey) is on a killing spree now and he’s not slowing down. After taking our Martinez and the adorable Pete (RIP, dudes) the one-eyed fella is back and badder than ever, with his heart set on taking the prison on the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead, scheduled to air on December 1.
At the very end of Season 4, Episode 7: ”Dead Weight”, The Gov. was just feet away from the prison, with his gun aimed first at Rick and Carl, who were behind the fence, and then at Michonne and Hershel, who weren’t protected by the fence.
Seeing as how it’s the mid-season finale, we’re pretty sure at least one person will die. David Morrissey has already said The Governor will be back for the later eight episodes of Season 4, so who will meet his or her maker next week?
Michonne is bound to be high on The Gov’s hit list for killing Penny and stabbing him in the eye, but could he really kill her? In the Walking Dead comics The Governor captures Tyreese and basically says, “Let me in or he dies.” Tyreese was willing to die for the good of the group, and Rick allows it. Ultimately The Governor beheaded him with Michonne’s katana.
So will he do that in the comics, take Michonne’s life with her own weapon? Or will he kill Hershel, Rick, or Carl instead?
As we’ve learned by now, anything is possible in Walking Dead land. Do you think Michonne will die, or are we way off? Sound off below!
The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
