X Factor Season 2’s CeCe Frey: Where Is She Now?

What time is it? Tool time! And also, time to check in on our muse, CeCe Frey –– aka The X Factor USA Season 2's most funky and spunky contestant / Ke$ha impersonator. If you love CeCe as much as we do (with the passion of a thousand fringe jackets), you're probably dying to know what became of her after she was ousted from Simon Cowell's version of The Hunger Games as the sixth place winner. Well, guys. It's all good news.

CeCe is currently hard at work on her debut album, which is full of what she describes as "originals,” and is constantly posting cryptic tweets about being in the studio. Even better? This gal recently treated her fans to an amazing cover of "Wake Me Up" by Avicii, along with a beautiful original music video. "This song brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it," CeCe muses. "I'm very connected to this song and that is why I chose it to be the first song to sing for you all in almost a year. I hope you enjoy it."

Mission accomplished, CeCe. We love this cover almost as much as we love the fact that this up-and-comer's Facebook bio reads "I pledge my allegiance, to Rhythm and Sound. And to the United States of Getting Down."

CeCe is most definitely getting back to her roots with her new music, and she even hinted that she may have been led astray in the wake of success on The X Factor. "There are so many things you'll never know about last year," CeCe tweeted. "It feels so good to have MY voice back."

Hmmm, way to leave us wanting more! So, what else is CeCe up to? She's been busy playing shows and doing photo shoots (sigh, being a star is so hard), but she also makes sure to spend time with her family and her boyfriend, musician Ryan Mueller!
