UPDATE (12/5/2013): Paul Walker's official official autopsy report has been released and the causes of death are now known. Paul died of the combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries. The driver, Roger Rodas, died of multiple traumatic injuries. The coroner says the two men died "within seconds." Toxicology reports are pending and could be held for six to eight weeks.
UPDATE (12/1/2013): The second victim in the accident that killed Paul Walker has been identified as the actor's friend, Roger Rodas. Roger, was the owner of Always Evolving, the Valencia, California-based automotive company that was hosting the car show and benefit that Paul was participating in on the afternoon of his death. People reports that Roger leaves behind a wife and two young children.
UPDATE: Following the death of actor Paul Walker in a car crash on Saturday, Santa Clarita police issued the following statement: "When they arrived, deputies found the vehicle engulfed in flames. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded, extinguished the fire and subsequently located two victims inside the vehicle. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation. A solo car crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. in the city of Santa Clarita, on the outskirts of Valencia. A 911 call came in from a bystander."
A message confirming Paul Walker's death was posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday: "It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Paul Walker, who starred in the blockbuster Fast and Furious movie franchise, has passed away in a fiery car crash in Southern California. According to TMZ, the 40-year-old actor died Saturday afternoon (November 30) in Santa Clarita.
A rep for Paul confirms to TMZ that the actor died today in the crash after leaving a charity event benefitting Philippine typhoon relief. TMZ reports that the vehicle, reportedly driven by a friend of the actor, collided with a tree or post and the vehicle became engulfed in flames. The Los Angeles County Fire Department extinguished the fire while Paul and the unnamed driver were pronounced dead at the scene. The representative says that Paul was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Paul, who also starred in the classic '90s football movie Varsity Blues, is slated to star in the seventh installment of the Fast and the Furious series. With the movie still filming (according to IMDb), we’re anxious to see how this affects the July 11, 2014 release date.
