Update (December 13, 2013):
Since leaving rehab, Amanda has stuck by her parents, Rick and Lynn’s sides. She’s been photographed out with them doing family-friendly activities like walking the dog and enjoying (mostly) the rides in Disneyland. And though she’s been offered post-rehab interviews with both Dr. Phil and Oprah, the actress is wisely steering clear of the spotlight for the time being.
Amanda is also still focusing her attention on furthering her fashion career, most recently touring the Orange County campus of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising on December 11. If she does decide to enroll in the program, she will have her family and support system nearby, which sounds like a win-win to us!
One last piece of good news: Sherbert, the puppy on which Amanda accidentally spilled gasoline last July while setting a neighbor’s driveway on fire, has been placed in a new home and is doing well — yay!
We will continue to keep you updated as Amanda furthers her recovery.
Original story (December 4, 2013):
America’s favorite troublemaker, Amanda Bynes, has officially been cleared to leave rehab and is living with her parents, where she will be spending the duration of her recovery, according to People.
Amanda was forcibly hospitalized following her setting a neighbor's Sherman Oaks driveway on fire in July, eventually entering an inpatient program at a Malibu treatment center. Since then, Amanda’s been working on leveling out her medications and attending therapy sessions to get her mind back in order after the series of breakdowns that made headlines all summer.
"Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who's contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda's recovery," Amanda’s mom’s lawer, Tamar Arminak, said in a statement. "Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she's feeling better every day."
But she’s not totally off the hook yet. Amanda’s outpatient treatment will continue, and she’s working on making good with her parents. “She’s very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared,” Tamar added.
So what’s on the agenda for Amanda now that she’s free again?
“"She's now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design," Tamar said. "She's mentioned before she's interested in creating a clothing line."
We wish Amanda all the best — after all, without her, we’d have no Moody’s Point.
