The Vampire Diaries

Vampire Diaries Spoilers: What Are Jeremy and Enzo Doing in This Behind-the-Scenes Photo?

How psyched are we that the enigmatic Augustine vamp known as Enzo didn’t die all those years ago in the Whitmore House fire? Extremely. Because it means we get more Michael Malarkey in our Vampire Diaries life. Seems the tortured vamp will be sticking around for a while. Check out this photo Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy) just shared from the TVD set!

“Chilling on set with this handsome fella @mkmalarkey,” Steven tweeted on December 12. Yeah, we’d snap photos of the stud if we were nearby, too. But what are these two doing in a scene together? It’s hard to speculate given that we’re not sure where Enzo falls on the good guy-bad guy spectrum. Sure, he tried to kill Damon in the last episode, but was his heart really in it? The guy was out of vampire prison for the first time in 60 years, let’s give him some time to adjust. Or maybe he’s a total baddie who has taken Jeremy hostage as TVD baddies often do. Or, Jeremy is trying to kill the vampire as teenaged vampire hunters with arms the size of small planets often do. The possibilities are endless. We just know that we would watch a show about Enzo and Jeremy being friends. Just saying, maybe they could work out together.

Enzo seems to be getting a lot of play in recent filming. Earlier this week, he was hanging with Ian Somerhalder (Damon) and Rick Cosnett (Dr. Wes) on some rural farmhouse property. What is this vampire up to? And whose side is he one? We know he’ll be “the devil on Damon’s shoulder,” but we’ll have to keep watching to find out. In a season that hasn’t had the best luck with making its big bads land, we’re excited to see how Enzo’s storyline play out.

Do you think Enzo is evil? And why is he hanging with Jeremy? Share your theories in the comments below!

The Vampire Diaries returns Thursday, January 23 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
