Pippi Longstocking’s Tami Erin Arrested for Hit-and-Run, DUI — Report
It's been quite a turbulent year for a certain former '80s child star.
Tami Erin — who played the title role in the 1988 film The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking — was arrested on December 14 for felony hit-and-run and drunk driving, according to TMZ.
Tami, 39, allegedly hit three cars, with one person having to be taken to the hospital, according to law enforcement. Reportedly, Tami didn't hit them all at once, but hit the first one and drove off, then hit the second and drove off, and then finally collided with the last one.
Police reportedly found her and did a field sobriety test before arresting her for the hit-and-run and DUI. Tami refused to take a blood-alcohol test, and her bail was set at $100K. Tami was "totally out of control ... just out of it," says a source.
This is not the first time the former child star has made news for an unflattering reason this year. She was arrested in April 2013 for allegedly assaulting her male roommate, and she also made headlines this year when her ex-boyfriend released their sex tape.
We wish Tami the best and hope that her next adventures are of the more positive variety.
