Grey’s Anatomy’s Chandra Wilson to Guest-Star on General Hospital

Bailey is sticking around at Grey Sloan Memorial, but Chandra Wilson is about to head over to Port Charles General Hospital! The 44-year-old actress will guest-star in an upcoming episode of ABC daytime soap General Hospital, as ABC Soaps In Depth reports. (Guess they would know!)

The casting may come as a bit of a shock to you, but Chandra is an outspoken and avid fan of soap operas including this long-running series… and she has been since long before she shared the same workplace as the Hospital cast members!

"I've watched GH for 35 years," she tells the magazine. "I grew up with it. It holds such a place in my heart. Even though we've shared the same lot for 10 years, I can't talk to anybody on the lot … It's weird to see them because they're supposed to be in Port Charles! I have that kind of fan disconnect."

She says that Roger Howarth — who plays Franco on the show, the role originated by James Franco — stopped by the Grey's set recently but that the executive producer of the show told her that they had their eye on Chandra even longer.

All we know about her role on the soap — which has been on for a record-breaking 50 seasons — is that she'll play a patient whose personality is not unlike Bailey's and that she'll pop up in the episode airing on Tuesday, January 28. Set your DVRs!
