Another day, another wonderful little treat from Lea Michele (Rachel). The Glee star has been busy promoting her first single, “Cannonball,” off of her debut album, Louder, due out this spring, but now we get to see a totally different side of Lea thanks to another one of her projects that’s been years in the making.
Lea was cast as Dorothy in the animated feature, Legend’s of Oz: Dorothy’s Return several years ago, and now the highly-anticipated flick starring Lea as Dorothy, Tony winner Bernadette Peters as Glinda, Dan Aykroyd as Scarecrow, Tony nominee Kelsey Grammer as Tin Man, and Jim Belushi as the Cowardly Lion, finally has an official release date!
Broadway World describes the film as follows: “The story follows Dorothy as she returns to Oz to find her old friends Glinda, Scarecrow, Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and the entire Land of Oz are in great peril from an evil Jester.”
According to a new trailer for the film, which you can view below, Legends is expected to be released on May 9, 2014. With Louder dropping on March 4, 2014, and Lea’s first book, Brunette Ambition set to be unveiled on May 13, our gal is in for an eventful few months and we couldn’t be happier. After all that she’s been through this year it’s about time she had a reason (or two, or three) to celebrate.
