It’s pretty much The Hunger Games of reality TV — though children aren’t battling to the death in a dystopian world, they are cooking up a storm in a fully-equipped kitchen. Same thing, right? For those of you who enjoyed the first season of MasterChef Junior, the pint-sized version of the original competition show, you had better start saving up your appetite for Season 2!
That’s right, the hit Fox show has officially been renewed, per TVLine. The Gordon Ramsay-hosted series will be returning next year with a new bunch of uber-talented kids — and we’re already expecting the next class of contestants to blow our socks off, because that’s exactly what happened this year.
“MasterChef Junior is one of the few shows on television that the entire family can truly enjoy together,” Kevin Reilly, Fox chairman, said. “I can’t wait to see what Gordon, Joe, Graham, and the next round of rambunctious, ridiculously talented junior chefs cook up in Season 2.”
Season 1 delivered an average viewership of 5.1 million, and we bet hopes are high for Season 2. We can’t thank this show enough for giving us some of the most adorable kids to ever grace our television screen. There was 11-year-old Jack, 12-year-old Dara, and Alexander Weiss, the 13-year-old winner.
We already can’t wait for Season 2!
