Mad Men’s Little Sally Draper: All Grown Up — in Heels and a Miniskirt!

When we first met Sally Draper on Season 1 of Mad Men, Don and Betty’s little daughter was just 5 years old. These days, both Sally — and the actress who plays her, Kiernan Shipka — are 14 years old. We’ve watched Sally grow up from a baby faced little girl to a confident teen. But for Kiernan, the transformation is even more noticeable.

After all, the teenage actress isn’t confined to her character’s buttoned-up period costumes. Instead of Sally’s pink knit sweaters, her real-life counterpart dresses like a modern-day teen. And does she ever look different!

On December 20, photographers caught up with Kiernan on a shopping trip at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills. The actress was wearing a black top, black leather high heeled boots, and a cute red and blue print miniskirt

The look is classy and cute, but it’s still a lot more grown up than what we’re used to with little Sally Draper. Showing skin isn’t really an option for her.

Up next, Kiernan can be seen in the upcoming TV movie Flowers in the Attic, based off the popular book. She plays Young Cathy and stars alongside Heather Graham. The film is set to premiere on Lifetime in early 2014.

As for her most familiar TV role, Season 7 of Mad Men will premiere in the spring of 2014, and will air the first seven of 14 total episodes. After that, it goes on an extended break, with the second half of the season not beginning to air until spring of 2015.

By then, we bet Kiernan will look even more grown up than she does already. We can’t wait to continue to watch her style transformation!
