So far, the first season of The Originals has concerned itself with two rivaling male vampires — Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis) — but when it returns on January 14 with Season 1, Episode 10 (“The Casket Girls”), it’s going to be all about the ladies.
“It’s nice, especially with a show where there’s two very strong male figures, for a whole episode specifically about the girls,” Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley Marshall) told E! News. “It’s about time, being like, enough is enough. We’re going to do our own thing. Especially when you have Davina, who is the most powerful and you have Rebekah who is the most powerful vampire, man or woman, it’s about time we acknowledged that.”
We are giddy at the prospect of Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt), Davina Claire (Danielle Campbell), and Hayley taking center stage in the midseason premiere. We are a little apprehensive to say that these supernatural gals could be teaming up, but you never know! Rebekah has been burned by Klaus and Marcel too many times, Davina knows she has been lied to, and Hayley is angry with Klaus for ordering the (failed) massacre of the werewolves — so they definitely have a few things in common.
Let’s not leave out Sophie Deveraux (Daniella Pineda) and Cami (Leah Pipes). These ladies also have reasons to step up and make some huge moves when The Originals returns.
We can’t wait to see this promise of girl power play out. January 14th can’t come quick enough.
