Dancing With The Stars

Derek Hough Joins Dancing With the Stars Cruise — With Tristan MacManus, Sharna Burgess, Emma Slater, Kym Johnson

How is Derek Hough going to find time to go on a cruise? After all, the five-time Dancing With the Stars pro champ has to continue this dance war with former DWTS partner Maria Menounos, his sister Julianne and their Vampire Diaries buddy Nina Dobrev.

Apparently there will be a cease-fire in January, since Derek is joining Holland America’s “Dancing With the Stars: At Sea” Champions Cruise on January 12.

Derek’s fellow DWTS pros Tristan MacManus, Kym Johnson, Sharna Burgess and Emma Slater will be joining him, along with celeb alumni Sabrina Bryan, Joey Fatone, and Carson Kressley.

The pros and celebs will perform for cruise guests and meet with fans for Q&As and photos — all aboard the ms Nieuw Amsterdam.

According to Holland America, the seven-day January 12 Champions Cruise will feature 15 winning guests from the ongoing "Dancing with the Stars: At Sea" competitions being held on all ships in their fleet. The winning guests and their professional shipboard dance partners will perform for passengers and the DWTS talent. The winning couple get their own Mirror Ball Trophy and title of Holland America Line's "Dancing with the Stars: At Sea" Champion. It’s a good thing Derek isn’t allowed to compete, ‘cause you know he’d win a sixth trophy!

There’s a previous cruise on January 5, featuring all the DWTS folks named above except Derek. That cruise sails to the eastern Caribbean with calls at Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos; San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Half Moon Cay, Bahamas. The January 12 Champions Cruise visits the western Caribbean with calls at Half Moon Cay; George Town, Grand Cayman, and Key West, FL.

Here’s more about the “Dancing With the Stars: At Seas” cruises. Have you ever been on one? Planning to head out on this one? A dream for the future? They certainly sound like a good time — with great views on and off the ship!
