X Factor 2013’s Alex and Sierra vs. The Voice’s Melanie Martinez on “Toxic” — Who Sang it Best? (VIDEOS)

Historically, Britney Spears songs have done well for reality competition hopefuls. Just ask Voice contestant Tony Lucca, whose cover of "Baby... One More Time" topped the iTunes' singles chart back in 2012. So we weren't surprised when X Factor 2013 duo — and real-life couple — Alex and Sierra covered Britney's hit single "Toxic." But it was their stripped-down, acoustic duet that really blew us away!

The duo, who can only be described as the hipster Civil Wars, wowed the judges with their simple take on the pop song. Demi and new judge Kelly gushed over the couple, while fellow newbie Paulina declared herself “a believer.” As for Simon? He called the performance “cool” and “quirky.” Watch their performance below!

But the wholesome duo weren't the only reality singing competition show hopefuls to cover the song on TV recently. Voice finalist Melanie Martinez, from Baldwin, N.Y., impressed the judges with a folksy twist on “Toxic” in The Voice Season 3 Blind Auditions on Sept. 17, 2012. Adam, Cee Lo, and Blake all turned their chairs around for the talented 17-year-old, but in the end, Melanie picked Team Adam!

So who do you think performed the classic Britney single best? Sound off in the comments!
