Um, duh. Enzo has already demonstrated that he’s not doing so well after more than 60 years in captivity, so we doubt he is going to be a ray of sunshine in Damon’s life. Add that to the spoiler that Enzo will be “the devil on Damon’s shoulder,” and we’ve got one recipe for disaster. Watch out, Mystic Falls. Denzo is on the prowl, and they’re hungry for vengeance.
To be honest, Enzo has already been a bad influence on Damon without having spent that much time with him recently. Damon’s guilt over leaving Enzo to die in that Whitmore House fire all those years ago has sent Damon on a serious path of destruction. Now that he’s back in Damon’s life as a constant, corporeal reminder of Damon’s betrayal, we can only imagine Damon’s poor coping techniques (i.e. murdering people) will only get worse.
No — Damon will resist
On the other hand, Damon has made serious progress in the humanity department as of late. Sure, he’s still torturing and killing people, but not near as much as he used to! Perhaps, he’ll be able to resist Enzo’s influence — especially if he starts to listen to the other people in his life.
When has Damon ever needed Enzo’s help to make the wrong decision? He did fine by himself for a half-century. Sure, you could argue that his bad behavior was all a result of his decision to leave Enzo in that fire, but we think Damon still has to take responsibility for his own actions.
Now that Delena is broken up, we could see Damon taking a serious morality nosedive. Maybe, Damon will be a bad influence on Enzo, did you ever think of that? Whoever instigates their renewed bromance, we’ll probably find it plenty entertaining. Character arc, shmaracter arc.
Do you think Enzo will bring Damon back to the dark side? Why or why not? Sound off in the comments below!
